Lamesa’s Independence Day celebration organized by the Chamber of Commerce is getting underway early Tuesday morning and will end with a fireworks display after dark.
Funeral services for Yolanda Guajardo Ramirez, age 62, of Lamesa will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating.
Graveside service for James Don Mitchell, 75, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Susan Felty officiating.
Graveside service for Juanita Bean Mayfield, 91, of Lamesa will be held Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
Konnie Petteway, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 3, 2023 at Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Local officials are encouraging everyone wanting to see fireworks on Independence Day to do so by attending the big fireworks display hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce.
