Konnie Petteway

Konnie Petteway, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 3, 2023 at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
Konnie was born on July 28, 1942 in Lamesa, TX to Verna and Blanton Clearman. She taught special needs children for 32 years in Midland, Andrews, and Monahans. She loved being able to help kids reach their goals!
Konnie went to Texas Tech University majoring in journalism. She went into teaching special education as a substitute and never left. Her greatest joy was being a NaNa to 3 granddaughters and her grandson C.C. She loved them all but was closest to C.C. since they both lived in Midland. When he was a baby, she would rock him and sing Kumbaya, My Lord. C.C. loved spending time with his NaNa and she loved it even more.
Konnie is survived by her daughter and grandson, Kristi and C.C. Petteway; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Susan Petteway; and three granddaughters, Brianna, Catherine and Lily. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Leatherwood and nieces and nephews.
Konnie is preceded in death by her parents, Blanton and Verna Clearman, and her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and George Mounts.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bynum School, 6100 Avalon Dr., Midland, Texas 79707 or SHARE, 3500 N. A St. Suite 2500, Midland, Texas 79705.
Special thanks to Angels Care Hospice and Legacy Ranch for the wonderful care of Konnie.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.
