Lamesa’s Independence Day celebration organized by the Chamber of Commerce is getting underway early Tuesday morning and will end with a fireworks display after dark.In addition to a parade through downtown, activities at Forrest Park include vendors, a pageant, baking contest and various athletic events.Activities will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K run and walk at the park.
