Juanita Mayfield

    Graveside service for Juanita Bean Mayfield, 91, of Lamesa will be held Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Hancock Cemetery with Pastor Kalith Brown officiating, under the care and direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
    Juanita passed away June 29, 2023, at her home in Lamesa, Texas. 
    She was born October 28, 1931, in O’Donnell to Emory Bean and Ruby Juanita (Bradfute) Bean.  She married Billy Ray Mayfield, Sr. February 26, 1952, in Midland County. They were married 71 years.  
    Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and loved fishing.  She worked as a bookkeeper for many agriculture businesses and was a member of Second Baptist Church most of her life. 
    Juanita is survived by her husband, Bill Mayfield; her children, Nona Woodward and husband, Craig of Burnet, Nan Sharp of O’Donnell, and Billy Ray Mayfield and wife, Linda of Lamesa; sister, Marie Frazier of Bowie; four grandchildren, Randi Woodward, Shara Dee McCaleb, Preston Sharp and T.J. Sharp; nine great grandchildren, Erin, Stetson, Cason, Mia, Matt, Caleb, Brianna, Sam and Reid. 
    She was preceded in death by her father and mother; siblings, Lavan Bean, Joy Bean, Bernice Neagle and R.J. Bean; and grandson, Clint Woodward.
