James Mitchell

    Graveside service for James Don Mitchell, 75, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Susan Felty officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. 
    James passed away July 2, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. 
    He was born May 15,1948 in Lamesa, Texas to James Chester Mitchell and Myrle(Wade) Mitchell. James was a landman and oil producer for many years. He enjoyed fishing and was quite the conversationalist. He will be very missed by his family. 
    James is survived by his daughter, Donna McCallister and husband, Travis of Lubbock; sister, Laura Robason and husband, Michael of Lamesa; brother, Jerry Mitchell and wife, Patty of Coahoma; and grandson, Chase McCallister of Lubbock. 
    James is preceded in death by his parents.
