Funeral services for Alberto L. Gurrola, Sr., age 80, of Lamesa will be held at 11:00 a.m.
A construction crew working at the city’s Roundtree pump station prepares to remove a section from the pipe which delivers water to Lamesa from the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority. The City of Lamesa enacted water restrictions from noon Monday through Saturday in an effort to avoid any water shortages while work was being done to put in a new pipe and valve assembly needed as part of the municipal water improvements underway by the city. The pump station where the work was occurring is just west of the new 14-million-gallon water storage tank that is part of the same project.
