Senior Citizens
The lobby and dine-in remain closed until further notice. We continue offering curb side meal service on the south side of the building starting at 11 am and until 12:15 for seniors 60 and over. We will continue delivering home delivered meals to our existing clients.
Water usage is still limited
Restrictions on water usage remain in place here as work is now focusing on getting water flowing again through the main pipeline serving Lamesa.
Firefighters can’t save house
Fighting not only the flames but the effects of wind and scorching heat, local firefighters couldn’t keep a blaze from taking a house to the ground at the edge of Lamesa Tuesday afternoon.
COVID count at 39
Although Dawson County continues to have one of the highest COVID-19 case counts in the immediate area, it still represents only a fraction of a percent of the local population.
OHS graduation features parade
Graduating seniors at O’Donnell High School will receive their diplomas during a parade ceremony this coming Friday afternoon.
Council okays grant efforts
Lamesa’s downtown area could see significant improvements if the city is successful with a grant application to the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Boards and metal roofi ng is strewn across a fi eld after part of the roof was blown of a building at Sparenberg during a thunderstorm this past Friday evening. Several utility poles were toppled at the same location.

The makeup of the Lamesa City Council saw a slight change Tuesday evening with newcomer Luciano Reyes taking over the District 3 seat on the city’s governing body.
