Construction workers on Friday morning were putting down two different sizes of gravel in preparation for the installation of artificial turf on the infield of the boys baseball field at Lamesa High School’s Joe Spikes Field on N.E. 14th Street. A different crew is expected to begin actually putting down the turf early next week. Similar work also is underway on the adjoining girls softball field. ...
