Versatility helped land Lamesa High School’s Luke Martinez one of the top honors on the all-District 3-3A football team.“Wherever we needed him, Luke always rose to the occasion,” Golden Tornado head football coach Joseph Hood said.Martinez was named District 3-3A’s Utility Player of the Year.“Luke is just driven to where he always does a really good job at whatever we need him to do,” Hood said.Among the positions Martinez played this past season were runningback, quarter back, cornerback, punter and kick returner.“Luke is just very athletic and talented,” Hood said.Martinez was one of seven Golden Tors who earned recognition on ...
