The Golden Tornado track girls put up a whopping 111 points in last week’s District 3-3A Track & Field Championships at Denver City but it wasn’t quite enough to bring home the coveted crown.Instead by putting up 112 points Denver City had just enough to hold off the strong charge from the Lamesa girls.The Golden Tor track girls, however, still came home with a very nice consolation prize.“We have eight young ladies that have qualified for the area meet in eight events,” Lamesa Coach Rose Mary McCall said.To qualify for area an athletes must finish in the top four in ...
