Golden Tornado seniors Jacob Casarez and Hailey Martinez teamed up to turn in a strong second place finish in mixed doubles at last Friday’s season-opening varsity tennis tournament at Big Spring.Casarez and Martinez reached the finals in that tournament by knocking off teams from Crane, Snyder and Big Spring before falling to another Big Spring team in the championship match.“Our kids played really well especially being the first time that they played mixed doubles together,” Lamesa Coach Jose Lucio said. “Hailey’s got a great forehand and Jacob’s so fast that he can get pretty much get everywhere on the court.”After ...
