The Sands Mustangs fell just short of winning its first six-man football game since 2018 on Friday night at Roby where the Lions held on to a nail biting 46-45 seasonopening victory. The game was close from start to finish. The Mustangs were down 22-20 at the half. Trailing 46-39 going into the final couple of minutes, the Mustangs put up a fight to the finish.
