The Sands Mustangs cracked six-man football’s Division II state poll this past week. Coach Steve Keith’s Mustangs lived up to that billing Thursday night at Afton as they galloped past the Patton Springs Rangers, 57-12. The game was stopped with 4:48 left in the fourth quarter due to six-man’s 45-point rule. “It took us a while to get going, but this was a twohour bus trip on a Thursday night in a game which we didn’t throw together until this past Monday,” Keith said.
