Lamesa softballers split two here Friday

The Golden Tornadoes’ softball squad split a doubleheader here Friday evening at Joe Spikes Field.The home team lost the first game to Class 4A Fort Stockton, 4-2.The Prowlers are coached by Darrian Doederlein Roberson, a 2014 Lamesa High School graduate who played for Golden Tor Coach Vanessa Hernandez. This is Roberson’s second year as a head coach.“We were looking for some good competition and we found it,” Hernandez said.Fort Stockton scored the game’s first run in the top half of the fourth inning. Lamesa came back and took the lead with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth.
