Lamesa’s eighth grade football team applied the finishing touch to a perfect season here last Thursday evening by rolling past the Denver City Mustangs, 28-12.The win was the Golden Tor eighth graders’ eighth straight win without a blemish.“We went out and played our game. We were physical and disciplined,” Lamesa Coach Matt Hood said. “We left no doubts putting a cherry on top of an amazing season.”The Golden Tors’ Nathan Ortega scored two touchdowns and a two-point conversion.
