Lamesa’s Mariela Gonzales won both the seventh grade girls 800-meter run as well as the long jump at Thursday evening’s Denver City Junior High Track Meet.Gonzales had a time of 2:47.05 in the 800 and a mark of 13-8 in the long jump.Gonzales also ran the anchor leg on the 800-meter relay team which finished second with a time of 2:07. Other members of that relay were Riley Torres, Layla Luna and Bella Barron.Michael Moreno placed second in the eighth grade boys 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.77.
