The new year has not been very kind to the Lamesa High School varsity boys basketball squad. The Golden Tornadoes lost their first game of the year to Greenwood this past Wednesday and then fell to Midland High School here on Friday evening. Midland defeated the Lamesa boys by a score of 72-48. Trailing 46-20 at the half, the Golden Tornadoes outscored their visitors 19-13 in the third quarter before getting outscored 13-9 in the final period.
