After impressive upset victories last week, both the Klondike Cougars and O’Donnell Eagles made big jumps in the state six-man football polls. Both the Cougars and Eagles were 45-point underdogs going into last week’s openers but that didn’t keep them from knocking off their opponents. Klondike beat McLean, which was a state runnersup this past season, and O’Donnell defeated Gorman, which was a pre-season top-10 pick. After those impressive victories, Klondike jumped 15th to 7th in the Division II state poll while O’Donnell moved up from 4th to 23rd in the Division I poll.
