After a break for Christmas, high school basketball teams in Lamesa and the area will be returning to action on the hardwoods later this week. Lamesa High School’s varsity girls and boys basketball teams both will be competing in the 27th Annual Littlefield Classic basketball tournament that begins Thursday and continues through Saturday. The Lamesa girls, now with an 8-10 record this season, will open play in that tournament at 2 p.m. Thursday against Sudan.
