The Golden Tornadoes play the first game of their 2023 baseball season this week.“From what we’ve been seeing in practice, we feel we have a team which could end up going a round or two in the playoffs,” Lamesa Coach Steve Garcia said.The Golden Tors are slated to open their season Monday at Coahoma but that could change depending on when Lamesa’s boys open the basketball playoffs this week.The Golden Tors will compete in the Shallowater Railyard Classic starting Thursday when they play New Home at 10 a.m. and Shallowater at 12:30. Lamesa will play Lubbock Trinity at 10 a.m.
