Members of the Lamesa Service Club have announced the establishment of a second scholarship to be awarded by the club each year.The Charles Varner Vocational Scholarship will be presented to a graduating senior from Dawson County who will be attending an accredited vocational school or program that will result in a certification, diploma or license in a vocational field.Vocational field includes a wide range of occupations ranging from nursing or welding to culinary or plumbing and others.The one-time scholarship of $1,500 will be paid directly to the school or program in which the student will be participating.It is named for ...
