LAUNCH PREPARATIONS

Employees at Medical Arts Hospital prepare for a balloon launch on Tuesday afternoon to call attention to the designation of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month both nationwide and in Lamesa. Although high west winds forced the launch to be moved from the helipad to the east side of the hospital, the event went on as scheduled. Members of the Dawson County Child Welfare board also have created a display at the north intersection of Lynn and Dallas avenues to call attention to child abuse prevention.
