Randy Goolsby

    Memorial service for Randy Steve Goolsby, 68, of Lamesa will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday,  April 22, 2023, in the First Baptist Church Chapel of Lamesa with a visitation to follow. Services will be officiated by Pastor Jim Medley.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
    He was born on August 12, 1954 in Lamesa, Texas, to Edward McHenry and Willie Glenn (Cheek) Goolsby.
Randy married Terry Carlene York on June 14, 1975, in Lovington, New Mexico. They were married 47 years.
    Randy is survived by his wife, Terry Goolsby of Lamesa; four daughters, Jennifer Hedges and husband John of San Angelo, Ami Lara and husband George of Midland, Camie Wade and husband Matthew of Lubbock, and Jacy Kelly and husband Michael of Wolfforth; mother-in-law, Janice York of Lamesa; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Willie Goolsby; sisters, Jackie June Welch and Margaret Ann Martin; brother, Kenneth Edward Goolsby; father-in-law, Utah Carl York, Sr.; and granddaughter, Kristen Lara.
    Randy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and the neighbors could often hear him yelling at the T.V. on Sunday afternoons. He loved the Texas Rangers, fishing and spending time with his family. But anyone who knew him knew the greatest love of his life was his devoted wife, Terry. She was his peace and his joy, and their love never wavered. Randy will be missed dearly but his strong will and smart mouth will endure through his children and grandchildren.
