Dawson County and several others in the immediate area are now included in a wildfire disaster declaration which Texas Governor Greg Abbott originally issued last month.

A number of students in the culinary program at Lamesa High School assisted in cooking and serving during the Lamesa Service Club’s recent pancake supper. The service club returned the favor this past week with a $1,000 donation to assist in helping pay for some of the students’ extracurricular activities such as barbecue competitions and other events.
