Directors of the Mesa Underground Water Conservation District agreed Wednesday to throw their support behind a groundwater conservation district in East Texas involved in an ongoing legal battle. Board members voted during their regular meeting to join an amicus brief supporting the Neches and Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District in its legal dispute with Mountain Pure LLC, which operates a water bottling plant in Palestine, Texas. The board also agreed to provide $250 to support the groundwater conservation district in its efforts.
