Victor Dimas was just a teenager when his cousin, Sgt. Antonio Reyes, was killed while serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.Dimas never figured his cousin wouldn’t return home after being drafted into the army.“He was just a leader, first of all,” Dimas said. “I didn’t have an older brother, but he was a great older brother.”Sgt. Reyes began his tour in Vietnam on August 20, 1968. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 8th Engineering Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. He was involved with 25 aerial missions; enough helicopter missions to qualify him for his Air Medal.Sgt.
