Lucy Valero has been named acting county auditor here following the recent retirement of Rhona Martin from the auditor’s office. Martin had worked in the county auditor’s office for 15 years, and took over the top position in that office in January 2019. Her last day in office was May 7. District Judge Reed Filley has appointed Valero to serve as acting county auditor until a new auditor can be selected. Filley is continuing to take applications for the position.
