A proposal by the Texas Department of Transportation to install improved lighting along two state highways inside the city limits received approval from the Lamesa City Council on Tuesday evening. Council members took no action on the proposal last month to allow time to gather information, specifically who would be responsible for reimbursing Oncor for the remaining usable life of the lights that are taken down.
