TAHOKA – The Tahoka community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dick Van Hoose, superintendent of Tahoka Independent School District (TISD). After several weeks of hospitalization, Van Hoose succumbed to complications of COVID-19 on Jan. 24. He was 70 years old. Van Hoose served as interim superintendent for Tahoka ISD from Aug. 2018 until his death. He had planned to retire from his position here at the end of the 2020-2021 school year, and had already begun assisting the TISD Board of Trustees in their search for his replacement.
