Students bring famous Americans back to life

Two leaders, a couple of astronauts, a behaviorist, a former First Lady, professional athletes and a children’s book writer all came to life Wednesday at South Elementary School.Ten of the school’s gifted and talented students put on the wigs, hats, helmets, ties and glasses to step into those famous American’s shoes for just a little while.After dressing up, they shared what they learned about the famous Americans after spending months studying their lives.“First they selected a famous American and then they started researching,” said Elonna Moore, reading and dyslexia interventionist; and gifted and talented advisor.Called the “Living Wax Museum,” the ...
