ANDREWS – The state last week filed a lawsuit in U.S. Appellate Court against the federal agency that recently issued a license for temporary storage of high-level waste at Waste Control Specialists’ site in far west Andrews County.Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed the lawsuit Thursday, asking the fifth circuit court to review the legality of the U.S. Nuclear Commission’s license issued to Interim Storage Partners on Sept. 13.The petition, filed on behalf of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, deems the license “unlawful” and asks that it be vacated.Texas legislators passed a bill ...
