Call it a preliminary or a practice show before the big day in mid-January 2024.Its proper name is the 2023 Southern Mesa Jackpot Show and it was held over the weekend at the LeeRoy Colgan fair barn.The event brought out lambs and goats Saturday, followed by pigs and their owners on Sunday. They were there to not only compete for monetary prizes but to practice their moves months before next year’s annual livestock show and auction.“It’s kind of like a practice show.
