Members of the Lamesa Fire and Rescue use foam, water and hooks to extinguish a fire that ignited under the metal awning of a privately owned garage at 612 S. Dallas Ave. Wednesday morning. A passerby reported the fire at 8:06 a.m. Firefighters used the hooks to remove the metal and stucco to get to the burning wood underneath. The fire didn’t spread to the building.
