Alcohol may have played a part in a local resident shooting himself in the foot early last Saturday morning, according to Lamesa Police Chief Josh Peterson. Police received a call at 1:33 a.m. reporting that a male was in the emergency room at Medical Arts Hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot.
