Lamesa school board members agreed Tuesday to shift $4 million from the district’s fund balance to be used for construction projects. Liz Poage, the school’s chief financial officer, said that funding was included in the districts original plans for an array of improvements that are being funded mainly through a bond approved by voters in May of 2018. The school district currently has a fund balance of about $22 million, Poage said, with the majority of that amount not assigned for any special purpose.
