School board reinstates two cheerleaders

In a 4-2 vote Thursday night, Lamesa school board members ended a two month process and took action on grievances filed by two mothers.Both had appealed a decision to remove ‘ their teenage daughters from the high school cheerleading squad this past spring.The board settled the matter by reinstating the girls to the team, enlarging the number of cheerleaders from 12 to 14.Board members Ernest Ogeda and Beverly Brewer cast the dissenting votes.
