Lamesa school district employees aren’t getting a pay raises. Instead, returning staff will receive an estimated total of $300,000 in 1.5-percent to four-percent salary stipends.“There are no increases in the salary, but the (school) board did provide salary stipends to all the returning employees from grounds to maintenance to bus drivers to everybody,” said School Superintendent David Ritchey.When Lamesa school board members met Thursday, their idea of increasing stipends instead of salaries was due to the Texas Legislature.
