David Sanderson officially has assumed the position of president of the Dawson County Hospital District’s board of directors.Board members elevated Sanderson to the position during their regular meeting Tuesday evening. He had been serving as the board’s vice-president.Sanderson already has been handling some of the board president’s duties since Joe Cope, the former president, did not file in the spring election.Cope and former board member Lonnie Ferguson finished out their tenures about a month ago.Recently-installed board member Steven Hatchett is now the board’s vicepresident.
