Rodriguez gets seat on council

Gloria Villalobos Rodriguez stepped back into elected office Tuesday as she took the oath of office at the start of the Lamesa city council’s regular monthly meeting. She will finish out the unexpired term on the District 3 council seat left vacant since late October by the death of Luciano Reyes. The council called for a Feb. 27 special election in search of Reyes’ replacement. They later canceled the election since Rodriguez was the only candidate to file in the race.
