SEMINOLE – Carmen Roberts, a Seminole High School and Texas Tech University graduate, is known to many locals as a former second-grade teacher and the mother of Shelbee Dayle, a Seminole Independent School District kindergartener who died from brain cancer at the young age of five.Shelbee passed away in her mother’s arms following an unsuccessful battle with cancer in 2012.Now Roberts is enduring an intense struggle of her own.
