Dawson County Democratic Party offi cials are inviting the community to a pre-Thanksgiving dinner on Monday.The meal will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pioneer Community Center near Pioneer Park at 1601 S. 2nd Street.Claiborne’s Thriftway is preparing the turkey and stuffing.“Well, just to give back to the community,” said Democratic Party Chairperson Vincent Irwin about the dinner. “We’ve received donations to help out the community and feel it’s a way to a close out the year; to allow free meals to the general public.”This is the first time party officials are hosting a community-wide Thanksgiving.“I’d ...
