Riding and roping will again take the spotlight here this week for the 71st edition of the Lamesa Rodeo hosted by the Lamesa Rodeo Association. Nightly performances are scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Thursday and run through Saturday at the Lamesa Rodeo Arena on S. Houston Ave. Finals of the county events, such as the team roping and junior barrel racing, will be part of Thursday’s opening performance.
