After coming up just short of completing her probation term, a Lamesa woman is now heading to prison. Vanessa Armendarez Hernandez, age 35, was sentenced in 106th District Court here last week to serve five years in prison. She was given credit on that sentence for about five months already spent in custody. According to court records, Hernandez originally was given a six-year probated sentence when she pleaded guilty in February 2012 to a charge alleging possession of 1-4 grams of methamphetamine, a controlled substance.
