Applications are currently being accepted from area students for two $2,000 Bob Craig Memorial Scholarships awarded through the West Texas Press Association and the Texas Press Association. The scholarship is open to applicants in the area served by WTPA member newspapers – including the Lamesa Press-Reporter – and whose career goals include working with a community newspaper. This year, the deadline for applications is April 15. Each scholarship is divided into two payments of $1,000 each semester.
