The following were among the many calls received recently by the Lamesa Police Department: Sunday, Aug. 2 5:18 a.m. – Two males were arrested and taken to the county jail after police responded to a report of two brothers fighting in the 500 block of N. 13th St. 11:31 a.m. – A grass fire was reported west of Highway 87 toward the end of Co. Rd. 33. Fire departments from Ackerly and Lamesa responded. 12:11 p.m. – One person was arrested and taken to the county jail after police responded to a call of 6-8 males fighting near the corner of N. 2nd St.
