It takes months of planning and a whole lot of manpower to organize the annual Chicken Fried Steak Festival (CFS) held every year in late April in Forrest Park.The three-day event is still over a month away, but city and chamber officials already have some of the bands lined up and much of the activities scheduled for April 26-28.The celebrations centers around Lamesa’s recognition - according to legend - as the birth place of where the famous Southern dish was first created.Many of the activities for the 14th annual celebrations are similar as last year’s events.
