When O’Donnell school students begin the 2023-2024 academic year in August, they’ll be under a slightly different calendar than usual.O’Donnell school board members agreed April 20 to implement a flexible fourday school schedule for all grade levels when the new school year begins Aug. 15.The school district joins 59 other Texas schools which have either gone with a four-day week schedule or a hybrid version of it.Texas lawmakers in 2015 opened the door for four school days when they changed how classroom time is calculated.Before then, school districts were required to have 180 days of classroom instruction.
