O’Donnell school board members lowered the tax rate and approved the 20232024 budget during their Aug. 29 meeting.The board dropped the tax rate by less than two pennies. They set the rate at $1.2730 per $100 valuation.The tax rate for the 20222023 fiscal year was $1.4369 per $100 valuation.The board divided the 2023-2024 tax rate with .7730-cents per $100 valuation going into Maintenance and Operation (M&O) fund and $.50-cents per $100 valuation in Interest and Sinking (I&S).The M&O covers the district’s operations while the I&S pays for its debts.The new budget contains $5.442 million in expenditures and $5.093 in revenue.School ...
