Local schools already have dismissed classes for the holidays but most government offices and businesses here will be open at least for the first part of this week before closing for Christmas. All Dawson County offices are closed Wednesday through Friday. That will include the Dawson County Public Library. Usually open on Saturdays, the library also will be closed the day after Christmas. The U.S. Postal System will deliver letters and packages Christmas Eve. The Post Office will be closed on Christmas Day and there will be no deliveries that day.
