With Independence Day falling on Sunday, most governmental offices and local the Lamesa school system will be recognizing Monday as a holiday. Federal offices, including the post office, will be closed Monday for the Fourth of July holiday. The post office will resume deliveries Tuesday. Banks also are closed Monday. Dawson County offices and the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce office will be closed Monday, as well.
